Roughie Roundup Field hockey team picks up some wins

The Catasauqua field hockey team picked up three recent wins.

The team won 2-0 over Moravian Academy.

Shelby Haldeman and Kamryn Pushkar each scored goals for the Rough Riders. Haldeman added an assist on Pushkar’s goal.

Lizzy Bass made two saves to earn the shutout win for CHS. Rylee Simmons made five saves in the loss.

The girls picked up a 2-1 win over Pen Argyl

Shelby Haldeman again scored for Catty and Nicole Ramos added a goal.

LIzzy Bass stopped seven to pick up the win in net.

Kaylie Hettel scored for Pen Argyl and Olivia Apostol stopped three in net.

The girls were a 1-0 winner over Wilson.

Kamryn Pushkar scored the lone goal of the game with Haldeman adding an assist.

Lizzy Bass earned another shutout making nine saves. Ana McAuliffe made six saves for the Knights.

Girls Soccer

The Catty girls soccer team lost to Lehighton 3-0.

Sadie Monk scored twice in the win, once in each half to make the difference. The Indians also got a goal from Morgan Meyers. 

Catty girls dropped a game to Bangor last week, 4-1.

Paige Wallis scored twice in the win.

Catty’s goal came from Faith Daku on an assist from Brook Barna.

The girls lost a high-scoring game to Palmerton, 7-4.

The Bombers had 31 shots on goal in the game. Ella Baumgardt had six shots and scored on three of them, also adding an assist in the win. Nataly Walters had nine shots and also scored on three while adding an assist. Aubrey Frable also had a goal in the win. Hallee Lake added an assist.

For Catty, Mia Gomes had four shots on goal and scored twice in the lost. Faith Daku added a goal and also had four shots while Ana Rodriguez Ramos took five and scored once.

Haley Cedeno added an assist in the loss.

Volleyball

In volleyball, Catty fell to Pen Argyl 3-0.

For the Rough Riders, Makayla Bird had 3 aces, 3 kills, 11 digs and 3 blocks. Maliya Walp added 4 aces, a kill, 2 assists and 3 digs with Kara Gruver collecting an ace and 11 digs.

Kayla Davis had 6 digs and Yaneisha Martinez added 3 digs. Amberlynn Faust had a kill and a block with Madison Monberger chipping in with 3 aces, a kill, two assists and 6 digs.

Catty fell to Saucon Valley 3-0, but no other information was made available.

Boys Soccer

The boys soccer team lost to Palmerton 6-2.

Catasauqua had goals from Jayden Olivencia and Osmar Ferre. Ferre assisted on Olivencia’s goal with Jonathan Cordon Pinto also adding an assist.

Palmerton’s Dillon Anthony socred three times and Trevor Anthony had two goals with Devlin Moyzan scoring once.

The team fell to Lehighton 4-1.

Jacob Anthony opened the scoring for Lehighton nine minutes into the game off of an assist from Jesse Waksmunski.

The Indians opened the second half with a quick score at 1:02 into the half by Phillip Ebbert off a double assist from Carlin West and Jaxson Strauss. Lehighton extended its lead to 3-0 seven minutes later on a goal by Waksmunski from Ebbert.

Catasauqua cut the lead on a goal by Jonathan Cordon-Pinto.

Strauss closed out the scoring with six minutes left off an assist from Waksmunski.

Bryce Miller had 7 saves for Lehighton while Liam McGinley had 7 for Catasauqua.
