District News: NAMS’ back to school night set

Northampton Area Middle School’s back to school night will be held 6-8 p.m. Sept. 12. Parents/guardians are invited to meet teachers and follow their child’s schedule for the evening. This is a great opportunity for those attending to become more familiar with their child’s school day.

Northampton Area High School’s band competition will be 6-9 p.m. Sept. 14 at Al Erdosy Field. It will be an evening to enjoy with several school bands competing.

The NASD facilities committee meeting will be held 6-7 p.m. Sept. 16 in the NAHS library conference room. This is a public session, so members of the community are welcome to attend.

The NAMS’ PTA group will hold its first meeting of the school year 5-6 p.m. Sept. 19. Meet the group’s new officers and help plan for this new school year.

The PTA is looking for volunteers. All are welcome to attend.

The NASD policy committee will next meet 6-7 p.m. Oct. 7 in the NAHS library conference room. This is also a public session.

Be sure to update your child’s information. This will include all phone numbers, emergency contacts and numbers, email addresses, text numbers and permission for field trips and photos for the 2024-25 school year.

Join your community members to have fun, get fit and try something new! The NASD community education program offers a diverse range of courses that cater to personal interests and promote fitness and leisure activities. Courses are taught by experienced instructors.

Yoga is scheduled for 7-8 p.m. Mondays through Sept. 30 at Siegfried Elementary School. There is a cost for the session and drop-in.

Aqua aerobics will continue 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through Oct. 22 in the natatorium at NAMS, 1617 Laubach Ave. There is a cost for the session, or you can pay a drop-in fee.

Crocheting for beginners will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 16 in the library at George Wolf Elementary School, 300 Allen St., Bath.

There is a cost, and no drop-ins will be allowed. The class has a maximum of 10 participants. Supplies will be included.

Country line dancing classes will start 7-8 p.m. Tuesdays Oct. 1-22 at Siegfried Elementary.

Dance It Out is set for 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays Oct. 9-30 at Siegfried. There is a session cost and a drop-in fee.

You do not need to be an NASD resident to participate.
