Rimple part of Bloom soccer team

The Bloomsburg men’s soccer team was selected to finish third in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division by the conference’s coaches as revealed Wednesday afternoon.

The Huskies are coming off an 11-4-5 season in 2023, leading to a second-place finish at 7-2-3 in the PSAC East and a second consecutive PSAC Championship in the third season under head coach Mark Bassett.

Bloomsburg sits third in a highly competitive East Division behind defending PSAC Champions Millersville in the number one spot with five votes and runners-up West Chester from a season ago slotting in at second with one. East Stroudsburg enters the season No. 4 in the division, while Shepherd and Shippensburg round out the preseason poll in the fifth and sixth slots, respectively.

Former Northampton player Brady Rimple will be part of the team this season. Rimple started 19 games in goal as a senior and helped the Huskies to the third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, including the first win in the postseason tournament in team history. He held a shutout in six games this season, tying for the fourth most in a season in school history and became the third goalkeeper in team history to have multiple seasons with five-plus shutouts. Rimple had a 1.04 goals against average on the season with a .91 mark in conference play. He stopped five or more shots in four games and finished with a season-high seven saves against Findlay.
