K-Kid Roundup: Jusinski 12th

The Northampton cross country teams took part in their own event, the Northampton Invitational, this past weekend. The event featured 56 different schools with over 1,300 kids crossing the finish line over the course of six races.

The Kids Liv Jusinski battled her way to a 12th place finish against some really tough competition in an event. Julia Kelly of Downingtown West took first place overall for the girls with a time of 17:46.1.

Jusinski’s time was 19:50.7.

On the boys side, NHS was led by Abel Veltri who took 63rd with a time of 17:49.5. The overall boys race was won by Chase Choudhry of Exeter Township. He had a winning time of 15:31.4.

The other Northampton medalists were from the middle school races. Michael Snyder finished 4th overall out of 158 races in the boys race, and the girls middle school team had two medalists in Claire Sobieski (10th) and Reagan Marks (19th).

“Overall it was a strong day for many of our runners,” said head coach Dan Benner. “Edwin Wright had a personal best time of 17:53. Tobias Scott and Grace Schall ran their first ever high school 5K races and had significant time drops from last week’s time trial.”

The team is back in action Tuesday, Sept. 10, when the team takes on Pleasant Valley, Pocono Mountain East, and Pocono Mountain West.

Volleyball

Northampton’s volleyball team beat Nazareth 3-1, with scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15.

The Kids rallied after dropping the first set.

Elizabeth Sheldon had 30 digs and 5 assists. Addison Morgan had 23 assists, 19 digs and 4 kills while Morgan Chandler had 9 kills, 2 aces and a block.

Claire Luckenbach had 11 kills and 5 aces.

The Kids beat Upper Perk by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-22.

The team fell to Liberty 25-17, 13-25, 16-25, 25-20, 8-15. No other information was available for either game.

Field Hockey

The field hockey team lost to Emmaus 7-0.

Emmy Horner had two goals as did Sadi Nawarynski and Madi Lenig Gracie Huffer had the final goal.

Northampton goalie Octavia Reichelderfer made 12 saves in the loss.
