GirlCrue rocks Catty park

GirlCrue is an all-female band from the Lehigh Valley that had Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St., rocking Aug. 23 as part of the summer concert series. The band played rock, dance, funk and high-energy party band music.

The band started entertaining in 2014 and has grown into a leading band in the Lehigh Valley live entertainment circuit. Visit girlcrueband.com for more information, the upcoming schedule or how to book the band for an event.

On the picture-perfect, comfortable, late-summer evening, patrons seemed happy with children playing and resident dogs in attendance. A food truck from North Whitehall Township called Obsessions 4 Concessions served a variety of foods, and Taylor House Brewing Company of Catasauqua served adult beverages.

Another refreshment stand at the concert was an old-fashioned lemonade stand. It was operated by two youngsters, Lilly and Izzabel Castano, of Northampton. They had a small stand but featured brisk business. They were both all smiles as Lilly said, “Look at all the money we made so far.”

Izzabel is a high school freshman who is already considering Auburn University in Alabama to study some form of aviation technology or perhaps aviation services and management.

The Catasauqua summer concert series is an annual series that begins in late spring and runs throughout the summer. It continues to grow in popularity and attracts not only Catasauqua residents but also folks from surrounding communities.
