EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I’m currently enrolled in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom’s name is Robin and my father’s name is Robert. I have a brother named Aidan and a dog named Danish.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is chemistry, since I’ve always been really interested in the sciences. Chemistry is also very hands-on, which is why I like it so much.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I’ve received a few awards and recognitions throughout my high school career such as the Orchestral Leadership Award, being selected for and attending a Rotary leadership camp, as well as making it on the Principal’s Honor Roll through high school.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I’m involved in many after school and extracurricular activities such as chess team/club, orchestra, as well as sinfonia and chamber orchestra. I also played in the pit orchestra supporting last year’s musical. These experiences have involved me in different communities, expanded my horizons and I made some lasting friendships.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. I would consider balancing my musical interests and extracurriculars with my school work a big challenge.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school I want to go to college and pursue a degree in the field of chemistry.

Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with an historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?

A. I would like to spend time with Magnus Carlsen, a chess grandmaster. I want to know more about his methodical thought process with chess and ask advice on how I could improve my chess skills.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would hope to be remembered as a good friend to my peers and a happy and helpful individual to my friends, teachers and family.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice to my peers is to not put so much stress and pressure on yourself because of hurdles and problems that present themselves throughout school and life. Don’t take everything so seriously and aim to live the happiest life you can.
