Donald J. Holschwan-
der, 85, of Whitehall, died Aug. 25, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Walter R. and Elsie E. (Spengler) Holschwander.
He was a high school graduate.
He owned and operated his own tire company, formerly known as the Thrift Tire Company, Hellertown, from 1961 to 1985. He merged his company with the former Hoffman/Treadway Company of Montgomery County in 1985 and continued as a sales representative before retiring in 2000.
He served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by a brother, Thomas E. and wife Kathryn of Whitehall; a sister, Shirley and husband Robert Deasey of Whitehall; a niece, Helen; and two nephews, Chad and Jason.
He was predeceased by a companion, Ethel Parsons; and a niece, Donna.
