Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, will hold free food distributions every Wednesday in September 2-4 p.m. Recipients must reside in the East Penn School District. Signs will be posted for parking and entrance to pick up food. Also – Sept. 11, 18 and 25.

The Macungie Band will present its fourth “BBQ AND BEATS” pulled pork dinner and concert at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5130 Snowdrift Road, Orefield. Music and food service begin 4 p.m. Come early to get your favorite table. Parking is available in the rear of the building, including accessible parking spots with no steps into the church’s family center. The menu will feature freshly roasted pulled pork on a Kaiser bun, coleslaw, baked beans, roasted potatoes, desserts and beverages and catered by Country View Meats in Danielsville. The concert will include a tribute to the music of the James Bond movie franchise, selections by composer George Gershwin, music from “Mary Poppins” and John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever.” There is a cost for tickets and tickets must be purchased in advance. Celebration at Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5901 King’s Highway South, Old Zionsville. Debbie Vallentin from The Kindness Project will be the guest speaker during the 10:30 a.m. worship. Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie will hold a free take-out community meal 4-5:30 p.m. The menu will be chicken pot pie, salad, roll w/ butter and a dessert. Just follow signs and drive around to the back of the church and packed meals will be handed out to you.
Sept. 14

Sept. 15
Jerusalem Western Salisbury Lutheran Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown, will host the Pioneer Band of Allentown 1 p.m. The concert will be held rain or shine. Attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to help those in need.
Sept. 20
Wildlands Conservancy will host the program “Magnificent Moths” 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus. The program is designed for ages 4 and older. Participants will learn about moths that, although camouflaged to avoid predators, can glow under black light. There is a cost and registration is required. Emmaus Main Street Partners will host the annual Farewell to Summer Festival 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Triangle Park in the center of town. The event will feature food trucks and showcase local businesses and crafters. The event traditionally includes activities for kids and entertainment.
Wildlands Conservancy will host its fundraiser “Wine & Dine,” a farm-to-table experience, 4:30-7 p.m. at Lock Ridge Park, 525 Franklin St., Alburtis. Chefs from Roots Catering will prepare a seasonal menu of locally-sourced farm-fresh foods and beverages will include wine from Domaine Pterion and beer from Weyerbacher Brewing Company. The 22nd annual Lower Milford Fall Festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the township building, 7607 Chestnut Hill Church Road, Coopersburg. The event traditionally includes artists, vendors, craft demonstrations, activities for children, music, food, wagon rides and more. The festival is held rain or shine. Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company will host a community dedication ceremony for its new fire station, 955 S. Ott St.. 11 a.m. The event will include a raffle as well as food trucks.
The Emmaus Lioness Lions Club will host a chicken pot pie and bingo fundraiser event at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus. Doors open at 1 p.m. and bingo begins 2 p.m. There is a cost for tickets, which include dinner and bingo. Additional bingo cards and raffles will also be available for purchase at the event. Attendees also are welcome to donate a pair of new pajamas for children in need (sizes newborn through 18). Those who donate will receive a special bingo card to play a cash game exclusively for pajama donors. All donations will benefit foster kids throughout Pennsylvania.
