Catasauqua: American Legion to hold breakfast

Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St., will hold the first breakfast of the season 8-11 a.m. Sept. 8. Come out for all your favorites and order right off the menu.

These breakfasts are now being held the second Sunday of the month.

Call the Legion at 610-264-1606 with any questions. Leave a message if there is no answer.

All are welcome.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., will be closed Sept. 9, starting 10 a.m., to have the new floor installed.

The Catasauqua Club, 226 Pine St., is holding a basket raffle 5-8 p.m. Sept. 27 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 28. Food will be available for purchase, and there will be a bake sale.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will continue the half-price back-to-school sale until the end of September.

The shop’s regular hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The shop accepts donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during regular store hours.

It’s never too soon to start thinking about Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church’s basket raffle in the fall. The event will be 4-7 p.m. Oct. 4 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 5 at the church, 604 Fourth St.

The basket raffle committee is in need of baskets or items that we can transform into a basket or Script gift card donations. Consider donating items now or think about putting together a basket of your own to donate.
