Chester F. Yeakel Jr., 89, of Fogelsville, died on Aug. 19, 2024, surrounded by family.
He was the widower of Martha B. (Tognoli) Yeakel.
Born in Vera Cruz, he was the son of the late Chester F. Yeakel Sr. and Anna (Godusky) Yeakel.
He was an active member of Old Zionsville United Church of Christ.
A life member of the Cetronia Ambulance Corps, Station 62, he volunteered for events at the Good Will Fire Co. No. 1, Trexlertown, Station 25.
He retired as a heavy diesel mechanic from William F. Deibert, GMC Trucks Inc.
He enjoyed his pastimes of playing banjo, tinkering with engines and spending time with family and friends.
A man who was outgoing, he did all he could to help those around him.
His survivors include a son Chester F. Yeakel III (Barbara) of Fogelsville; brother Richard M. Yeakel of Allentown; grandchildren Jessica L. Boushell (Jayson) of New Tripoli, Jason N. Yeakel (Lauren) of Fogelsville, Joseph A. Yeakel (Tonya) of Fogelsville, and Kirstin A. Towson (Joshua) of Stewartstown; nine great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by brothers Arthur, Charles and Howard.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Aug. 29 at Old Zionsville UCC, 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville.
There will be visitation 10-11 a.m. at the church.
