Jeff Dunham

Jeff Dunham, “Still Not Cancelled Tour,” 7 p.m. Sept. 1, Fairgrounds Grandstand. Jeffrey Douglas Dunham, born April 18, 1962, in Dallas, Tex., is an American ventriloquist, stand-up comedian and actor. He began ventriloquism in 1970 at age eight when his parents gave him a Mortimer Snerd dummy for Christmas. Dunham graduated from Baylor University in 1986. Dunham has been credited with reviving ventriloquism and doing more to promote the art form than anyone since Edgar Bergen. Time described his characters as “politically-incorrect, gratuitously-insulting and ill-tempered.” His autobiography, “All By My Selves: Walter, Peanut, Achmed and Me,” was on the New York Times’ Best Seller list three weeks in a row. He had Billboard’s Top Comedy Tour for three consecutive years, three of Comedy Central’s most-viewed specials (“Me the People,” 2022; “Minding the Monsters,” 2012; “Controlled Chaos,” 2011) and released his 12th television special, “I’m With Cupid,” on Comedy Central in February. It will be Dunham’s fifth time headlining the Allentown Fair’s Grandstand, including two nights at the 2009 Fair and performances in 2010, 2013 and 2016.
