Cheap Trick

Cheap Trick, Blue Öyster Cult, 7 p.m. Aug. 28, Fairgrounds Grandstand. Cheap Trick, founded in Rockford, Ill, in 1973, has released 20 albums, from the self-titled “Cheap Trick” (1977) to “In Another World” (2021). The band has sold 20 million albums worldwide, and has had the hit songs, “Surrender” (1978), “I Want You to Want Me” (1979), “Tonight It’s You” (1985) and “The Flame” (1987). The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. The band includes original members Robin Zandner, lead vocals; Rick Nielsen, lead guitar, and Tom Petersson, bass, and touring member Daxx Nielsen, drums. Cheap Trick performed at the 1993 Allentown Fair. Blue Öyster Cult, founded in Stony Brook, N.Y., in 1967, has released 15 albums, from the self-titled “Blue Öyster Cult” (1972) to “Ghost Stories” (2024). The band has sold 25 million albums worldwide and has had the hit songs, “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” (1976), “Godzilla” (1977) and “Burnin’ for You” (1981). The band includes original members Eric Bloom, lead vocals, and Buck Dharma, lead guitar, and long-time members Danny Miranda, bass; Richie Castellano, keyboards, and Jules Radino, drums.
