The Catty boys and girls soccer teams got off to great starts to their season.

The girls defeated Salisbury 2-0. Both Catty goals came in the first half.

Mia Gomes and Faith Daku were the Rough Rider goal scorers. Brooke Barna made 10 saves for the Roughs while Salisbury’s Kacie Kaough stopped 7.

The boys defeated Tamaqua to start their season, and again it was a 2-0 score.

The boys had one goal in each half to put away the Raiders.

Hayden Olivencia made it 1-0 before halftime and Daniel Jones added his goal in the second half. Jonathan Cordon-Pinto and Olivencia picked up assists in the win.

The Catty volleyball team lost to Palmerton 3-0, but no other information was available.

Catty field hockey fell to Palmerton 4-1 on Tuesday.

The Bombers got goals from Mikayla Pengelly, Tessa Sander and two from Madeline Thomas to pick up the victory.

Shelby Haldeman scored Catty’s only goal.

Sarah Sabo made six saves for the Bombers while Lizzy Bass stopped 11 for Catty.
