William A. Paul

Vietnam War veteran

William A. Paul, 73, of Emmaus, died in his home Aug. 18, 2024. He was the husband of the late Deborah H. Paul, who died in 2022. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Ralph N. Paul Jr. and Bertha A. (Helt) Paul.

He graduated from Emmaus High School, Class of 1968 and was a member of the art club.

He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded six medals, including the Bronze Star medal and served as a sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion.

He worked as a stone mason in the family business, Ralph N. Paul, Inc. and Nix Enterprises, for a combined 60 years until his retirement.

He raised homing pigeons, where he had some star flyers and raced them through the Mingo Homing Pigeon Club of Lehigh Mountain Combine.

He enjoyed hunting and playing softball in Vera Cruz in his younger years. He was a nature lover of all things, loved to paint and create works of art out of any medium, enjoyed the game of golf and Saturday morning breakfasts with his friends.

He is survived by daughters, Rebecca M. Ward, Hollie A. Litak and her husband, Jonathan; grandchildren, Charles Cooper Ward V, Gabrielle Ward, Kaitlyn Ward; sister, Dawn and her husband, Art; niece, Sarah; nieces and nephews; godchildren, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Ralph “Nick” III.

Services are private. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, Emmaus.
