Can you lift a box that weighs up to 50 pounds? Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank is seeking an experienced delivery driver to assist us in loading and unloading boxes of fresh and frozen produce to the senior center on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month 12:30-2:30 p.m. and using the food bank van. Do you enjoy presenting to small groups, speaking with people at events, working on social media posts and communicating with potential volunteers? Join American Red Cross as a volunteer recruiter to help build their local volunteer teams who can help to carry out the mission of the Red Cross. Do you own a pick-up truck or large vehicle? Community Bike Works in Allentown needs volunteers to pick up food donations between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesdays at the Whitehall ALDI on McArthur Road and deliver the donations to us. Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth is searching for organized individuals willing to commit to volunteering one day a week in the morning hours, Monday through Thursday, to coordinate the clinic desk. Duties involve calling nursing units to remind them of resident clinic appointments and directing other volunteers on which residents need transportation to the clinic area. Multiple teams of volunteers are needed to help pull tickets at the end of the K-9 Kop Project Mega Basket Raffle event at Petersville Rod and Gun Club, Bath, 5-7:30 p.m. Sept. 7. The 15th annual Ready, Set, GO(LD) 5K Walk, 8K Run and Kids’ Fun Run, hosted by Pediatric Cancer Foundation of The Lehigh Valley will be held Sept. 14 at the Ironton Rail Trail in Coplay. Volunteers are needed between 7 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for water stations, raffle tables, check-in tables, set-ups and clean-ups. Time varies for each volunteer station. Phoebe Allentown Nursing Home needs volunteers to help push wheelchair-bound residents from their rooms to the worship service in the all-purpose room every Sunday and on other religious holidays, between the hours of 1-4 p.m. Minimum age to volunteer is 13 or 10 with adult.
