New kindergartners prepare for the first day of school and beyond

Several kindergartners and their families braved the storms of Aug. 8 and headed to Salisbury Elementary School where staff opened the doors ahead of the start of the new year.

The Boandl and Wolf families arrived between the raindrops to take a walk through the school as Jaclyn Williams led them on a tour, which included a chance to check out the kindergarten pod, visit the classrooms where specials are held and visit the cafeteria.

Incoming kindergartners Mitchel Boandl and Serenity Rain Wolf were intrigued by different parts of the building, but both were full of excitement as the tour wrapped up and they were able to take a ride on the school bus, where driver Michael Mixa went over the bus rules with the duo before driving them and their families to the high school and back, offering a sneak peek into what they could expect during their first ride of the new year.

The first day of kindergarten was Aug. 26.
