Hokendauqua: WCHI meal to be served at Faith

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, will host a Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative free community meal, set for 4-6 p.m. Sept. 1. The meal, for low-income Whitehall Township and Coplay Borough residents, is guaranteed for the first 100 guests.

Another WCHI meal at a Hokendauqua venue will be Sept. 17 at Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church, 3300 Seventh St., for sit-down dining only.

Hometown Auto Spa will hold a fundraiser for Whitehall Fire Department 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 7 at the 3318 Seventh St. business. All proceeds will go directly to the department.

In addition, firefighters and a fire truck will be on site.

Whitehall Historical Preservation Society will have its fall flea market 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 7 at 506 Mickley Road. The rain date is Sept. 8.

There is a cost to sell your items. If you are a WHPS member, the cost is $5 cheaper.

The annual Pink Pumpkins Coins 4 Chemo flea market and community yard sale is set for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 7 at Teamsters Local 773 Union Hall, 3614 Lehigh St. All proceeds from the event will go to the Prager Patient Assistance Fund in the Lehigh Valley Health Network, which helps cancer patients currently in treatment with financial assistance for nonclinical everyday expenses.

The rain date will be Sept. 14.

GiveBack Lehigh Valley will host a cornhole tournament to benefit The Kindness Project, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of foster children across eastern Pennsylvania, Sept. 7 at Hokendauqua Park and Playground, 3417 Lehigh St.

Starting Sept. 17, Whitehall Township Parks and Recreation will begin aqua aerobics classes 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through Nov. 7 in the natatorium at Whitehall High School, 3800 Mechanicsville Road. There is a cost for residents and nonresidents; if you are a Whitehall Township resident, the cost is $10 cheaper.
