There are two kinds of people in the world: those who like scrapple and those who don’t.

If you fall under the scrapple loving type, The Great Allentown Fair has an event for you!

Brace yourself for a gastronomic spectacle at the first “Scrapple Eating Contest, 3 p.m. Aug. 31, Astound Broadband Farmerama Theater.

The event sponsored by Stoltzfus Meats will challenge competitors to eat as much scrapple as possible in 2 minutes. Any “upchucking” will result in disqualification.

Contestants will individually compete against one another in groups of five.

Contestants receive a Stoltzfus T-Shirt. Stoltzfus Meats operates the Stolfus Amish Deli at the Fairgrounds Farmers Market.

Prizes are:

First Place: $200, plus Stoltzfus Gift Bag of Goodies ($95 value)

Second Place: $100, plus Stoltzfus Gift Bag of Goodies ($75 value)

Third Place: $50, plus Stoltzfus Gift Certificate ($55 value)

Men and women with hearty appetites and strong intestinal fortitude must register, as space is limited. There is no fee to enter.
