Allentown Fair Queen coronation opening night Aug. 28

The 2024 Great Allentown Fair Queen, who will reign over the upcoming 172nd agricultural and entertainment exposition, will be crowned at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 in the Fair Queen Contest and Coronation, sponsored by Signal, at the Astound Broadband Farmerama Theater.

Four contestants are vying to succeed the 2023 title-holder Kamryn Fink of Germansville and win a $1,500 scholarship provided by Lehigh-Northampton Pomona Grange No. 68 and the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market.

The finalists are:

Olivia Wisser

Olivia Wisser, 17, a daughter of Amy and Jason Wisser of New Tripoli.

She is a senior at Northwestern Lehigh High School where she is on the honor roll and was recently named junior drum major for Northwestern Lehigh Tiger marching band. She is involved in the school newspaper.

She has won various awards in 4-H. At the 2024 Schnecksville Fair, she received Supreme Champion Dairy beef steer along with Reserve Champion Showman in Dairy cattle and Dairy beef.

She is involved in the Lehigh County 4-H Dairy club, as president and secretary; Lehigh County 4-H Livestock club; Lehigh County 4-H Teen Council, as secretary, and Lehigh County 4-H Programming Development Committee.

Her career goal is to attend college to pursue a career as herd manager for a dairy farm.

Cyani Gonzalez

Cyani Gonzalez, 18, is a daughter of Jeannette Cruz of Allentown.

She is a 2024 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School where she was on the honor roll. At Bethlehem Catholic, she received the Citizen Peace and Most Likely to Succeed with the Most Positive Attitude Award.

She is a freshman at Northampton Community College, majoring in early childhood education with a minor in special education. She is involved in competitive dance, color guard, Eco club, mock trial and debate team, baton twirling, tennis and cheerleading.

She has volunteered at Drum Corps International, S.T.A.R. animal shelter, and Monocacy Park tree-planting and trash removal.

After graduating college, she plans to become an elementary school teacher.

Atong Madok

Atong Madok, 18, is a daughter of Maieek Madok of Allentown.

She is a 2024 graduate of William Allen High School. At William Allen, she participated in the early college program that allowed her to receive an associate’s degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College before graduating high school. At LCC, she was on the Dean’s List and received the Outstanding Writer Scholarship and Mentzell Scholarship.

She is an upcoming freshman at Kutztown University, majoring in Cellular-Micro Biology. She is involved in tennis, art club, track, Trio Upward Bound club and film club. Her passion is creative writing. She volunteers at the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Her goal is to receive a degree in biology.

Zoie Jones

Zoie Jones, 17, is a daughter of Heather Chapkovitch and Eric Jones of Kutztown. She is a senior at Kutztown Area High School. She is involved in wildlife sciences through the FFA program at Kutztown. She received first place for Wildlife CDEs; is on the Envirothon Team, which received first place and went on to the state competition, and she received third place for public speaking.

She is the recipient of the Small Animal Manager Award, Greenhand Degree, Chapter Scholarship Award, Chapter Leadership Award, Chapter Degree and Creed Speaking Contest. She is involved with the swim team, track and field, cross country, volleyball and fishing club. She loves insects and has a beehive that she just started harvesting honey from.

She plans to attend a four-year college, majoring in wildlife biology.
