Joy C. Weldon, 73, of Whitehall, died Aug. 11, 2024, at her home. She was the wife of the Rev. Scott L. Weldon for 53 years.
Born in Salem, N.J., she was the daughter of the late George and Emma (Woodson) Stence.
She was a graduate of United Wesleyan College, Allentown, earning a bachelor’s degree in education.
She was last employed as an elementary teacher for Bethlehem Christian School, before retiring in 2005.
She was a member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville. She was a pastor’s wife for 50 years, caring for all aspects that go along with that role, as well as taking on additional tasks and serving as a mentor for younger women and caring for other children.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, David S. and wife Caroline of Vineland, N.J.; a daughter, Daphne J. and husband Daryl Grover of Nazareth; a brother, Russell Stence and wife Carol of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Eileen and husband Gerry Potoka of Charlotte, S.C.; and three grandsons, Bryson, Brennen and Braylon.
She was predeceased by a sister, Georgia; and a half-brother, Lenny.
