Michael R. Smith, 63, of Schnecksville, died on Aug. 15, 2024, in St. Luke’s Hospice, Lower Saucon Township.

He and his wife, Terri L. (Klotzbach) Smith, were married 17 years.

Born March 13, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of the late Jack Prior and Betty Ann (McNichols) Smith.

He was predeceased by his biological mother Mary Ann (Powell) Hughes.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal during a peacetime era.

He was quarry manager for the last 11 years at Keystone Cement, Bath.

Before that he was employed at Exide Technologies, Reading; Atlantic States Cast Iron Pipe Company, Phillipsburg, N.J.; U.S. Pipe and Foundry, Burlington, N.J.; McWane Cast Iron Pipe, Birmingham, Ala.; and Griffin Pipe, Florence, N.J.

A hardworking man, he took pride in his job.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed tinkering with his computer, grilling steaks on the barbecue, cooking big breakfasts for his family, soaking in his hot tub, and riding his motorcycle through the Pennsylvania hills with his wife.

He was rarely seen without wearing one of his many hoodies.

He loved old TV shows, westerns, Sci-Fi, and Eagles football.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Jennifer E. “Lizz” Jamison and her husband, Paul “Jamie” Jamison, of Bear Creek, N.C., Timothy M.P. Smith and his wife, Lauren A. Mecum, of Mt. Holly, N.J.; stepchildren Tarin M. Bateman and her husband, Robert K. Bateman, of Virginia Beach, Va., and David B. Klunk Jr., of Andreas; and grandchildren Julie and Kyle Jamison.

A graveside service with military honors will be announced at a later date.
