Constance R. Davis

Red Hat Queen Bee

Constance R. “Connie” Davis, 73, of Fogelsville, died peacefully on Aug. 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in St. Luke’s Hospice House.

She was the wife of the late Donald W. Davis.

Born in Coplay, she was the daughter of the late Hedy M. J. (Hocht) and Anthony J. Gartner.

A 1968 graduate of Whitehall High School and a 1972 graduate Kutztown State College in 1972, she taught second and fourth grades in the Whitehall-Coplay School District for 15 years.

Together, she and her husband loved to travel and they shared a love for cruising, St. John U.S. Virgin Islands and Europe.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregation of Ziegels Church, where she served on consistory and in a variety of leadership roles and, most recently, she became engaged with Vine Calvary Chapel.

She was involved with Order of the Eastern Star, Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society and was the “Queen Bee” of her local Red Hat Society.

An avid fan of the Phillies and Eagles, she loved to garden, enjoy sunrises and sunsets in her gazebo, and entertain family and friends.

Her greatest joy and most important hostings were tea parties with her granddaughters whom she adored.

She loved watching them play sports, bake, swim and go on fairy adventures together.

Her survivors include a son Chad W. Davis and wife, Allison (Hill), of Fogelsville; granddaughters Hallie and Emory; numerous nieces and nephews; brother Richard O. Gartner and wife, Mary; and stepmother Joanne M. (Green) Gartner.

She was predeceased by brother, James A. Gartner.
