Sandra A. Miklos, 85, of Emmaus, died Aug. 13, 2024. She was the wife of the late Nicholas J. Mikos, who died in October 2023. They would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this month. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Susan (Spengler) Steinbicker.
“Sandi” had a long and distinguished career as a telephone operator for Bell of PA and then worked into a managerial position at AT&T.
She was a longtime member and devoted volunteer at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus and the Emmaus Garden Club, where she was twice its president.
She volunteered at local food banks for many years and enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends.
“Grammy” enjoyed attending the many activities of her granddaughter, Claire, of whom she was so proud.
She was a founding member of a card club formed 60 years ago among close friends.
She and her husband enjoyed traveling and polka music.
She is survived by sons, Jim, of Macungie, David of Coopersburg; daughters, Dr. Carol, of Macungie, Mary De Dominics and her husband, John, of Macungie and their daughter, Claire; granddogs, Ben and Clyde. She is now reunited with her Pretty Girl and the family’s other beloved pets she took such loving care of.
