Machel Hauer
Machel Hauer, 80, of Salisbury Township, died Aug. 14, 2024, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Marilyn (Graxirena) Hauer for more than 24 years and the late Sheryl (Silva) Hauer who died in 1984. Born in Vidalia, La., he was a son of the late John and Rosie (Winn) Hauer.
He earned a commercial driver’s license and worked for FedEx for many years before retiring. Previously, he was a manager at various fast-food restaurants in New York and Memphis and worked in construction on the railroad in New York.
He was a member of Allentown Victory church. He attended the YMCA. His greatest passion was watching sports — he was an avid Kansas City and Yankees fan. He would also find any reason to hop on his tractor to care for his lawn and keep the grounds of his home in top shape!
He is survived by his wife; children, Latricia, Rev. Sundria Sam and her fiancé, Dr. Richard Wright, Machel “Mimi” Jenkins and her husband, Derrick, Jason, Carlos, Randee Hauer-Lectora and her husband, Keith, Christian; grandchildren, Donte Baldwin (Rebecca), Sheria Brooks, Aliya Hauer-Pickett, Dominique Hauer-Pickett, Kayla Pack, Keith Lectora Jr., Kai Lectora, Kamden Lectora, Kahlani Lectora, Deja Lighty, Christian Lighty, Michai Jenkins, Isabel and Ca’Miya Renee Hill; great-grandchildren, Tayveon Baldwin, Percais Baldwin, Donte Baldwin II, Scarlett Baldwin, Ezekiel Brooks, Zamia Martin, Novi Brown; many nieces and nephews. He had 22 siblings and is survived by one brother and 11 sisters. He was predeceased by 10 siblings.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Aug. 21 in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown. A viewing for relatives and friends will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 21 in the funeral home.
