Catasauqua: Concert planned for Aug. 23

GirlCrue will perform 7-10 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Catasauqua Park and Playground amphitheater, 501 American St.

There is only one more free concert scheduled after this one.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., is holding a special worship service 9:30 a.m. Aug. 25, followed by a potluck brunch, as part of its 150th anniversary celebration.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., will be holding bingo 1 p.m. Aug. 25. Doors open noon.

Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game and more.

There will be refreshments available for purchase. Bring a nonperishable food item for Whitehall Food Pantry.

Remember the community center has increased its cash prize payouts.

Catty Seniors Plus will next meet 1 p.m. Aug. 28 at Slovak Center Social Hall, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Doors open noon.

This month’s speaker is from Valor Clinic Foundation and will discuss what the organization does for veterans. There will be coffee and dessert before bingo.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a back-to-school half-price sale through Aug. 31.

The store’s regular hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The shop is happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys. Proceeds from the shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church is hosting a mystery dinner theater 5:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at the church. The performance is presented by Without a Clue Productions LLC and is titled “Murder at the Moulin.”

Join others for an evening of murder, mystery and mayhem. The menu includes herb-roasted chicken breast, roasted herb potatoes, salad, dessert and beverage.

George Taylor House Association, Lehigh and Poplar streets, is looking for crafters and vendors for the annual Harvest and Haunts Fall Festival, planned for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 26.
