Hellertown police arrested a man in connection with a nonfatal stabbing Aug. 3.

William Vera, 54, of Hellertown entered the Main Street 7-Eleven wearing bloodstained clothes and police were notified. They determined Vera had stabbed a man at a house on Thomas Avenue. Vera was taken into custody and the knife was recovered.

The victim was found with multiple stab wounds and rushed to a hospital.

Vera is charged with aggravated assault and attempted homicide, and was remanded to Northampton County Prison, bail denied.
