Police arrested Matthew Angel Torres, 24, of Bethlehem, following a fatal auto collision on Stefko Boulevard Aug. 4.

Around 6:30 p.m. police responded to a reported accident. Torres was found in the driver’s seat of a car wrapped around a pole. A woman in the passenger seat died of blunt force injuries.

Police said Torres had been driving recklessly and was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Torres is charged with numerous driving infractions, DUIs, involuntary manslaughter and homicide. The preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 26.
