BETHLEHEM social calendar August 21

DORNEY HIRING: Spooky season is just around the corner and Dorney Park is looking for the best in entertainment, ride operations, food and beverage, safety, security and more!

As they do each season, Dorney Park will fill HAUNT with skilled performers, from monsters to dancers to make up artists; these are the men and women who make Halloween come to life. Applications are now being accepted online.

All available Haunt positions are posted on the Dorney Park jobs site.

USA TODAY HONOR: The Lehigh Valley community knocked it out of the park for its iconic local hotel. Thanks to massive community support during contest voting, USA Today named Historic Hotel Bethlehem the Best Historic Hotel/Resort in America for the fourth consecutive year. No other hotel has earned the award four times, let alone four consecutive times. No other hotel or resort from Pennsylvania was nominated this year.

FREE RADIO CLASS: The Delaware Lehigh Amateur Club, Inc. will offer free classes this fall for people who would like to obtain an amateur license. The class will run for 10 weeks and will prepare students to take the Federal Communications Commission’s Amateur basic license examination.

Based in Bethlehem, the Delaware Lehigh Amateur Club has more than 100 members. It is a nonprofit 501(C) (3) charitable organization. Classes are offered as a community service.

The next session will begin Sept. 3. Classes will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. at the Northampton County 911 Center. For details or to register, contact KE3AW@arrl.net or call 610-419-9286
