Upper Macungie Township Parks and Recreation and Lehigh Valley Martial Arts are offering kids ages 5 and older a free summer self-defense class from 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 17 at LVMA, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Suite 190, Trexlertown.

The class will cover the basics and foundations of self-defense, how to practice and continued learning.

Preregistration is required.

Lehigh Valley Salsa Social is offering its Salsa Til Sunset 4-7 p.m. Aug. 18 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road, in Pavilion No. 5.

Dancers of all levels are welcome to participate.

This free program will teach basic footwork, partnering skills, principles of timing, and variations of shines and turn patterns.

No need to bring a partner. Registration is not required.

The Wildlands Conservancy is offering a summer camp for kids in kindergarten to fifth grade 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 19-23 at Lone Lane Park, 30 Lone Lane.

Unearth the thrill and beauty of nature found in forests, rivers, your local park, and own backyard.

Activities will range from survival skills, wildlife, art and science.

Participants will need to bring a nonperishable lunch.

Morning drop-off will take place 7:30-8:45 a. m.

Afternoon pickup is 4:15-5:30 p.m.

There is a per participant fee.
