Lehigh County Office and Aging and Adult Services presented a program May 15 in the Zentz Center at Fellowship Community, Whitehall, recognizing senior citizens for their contributions to the quality of life in the county.
This year, 19 older adults were awarded the title of Unsung Hero.
Rose Marie Fenstermacher, 82, Allentown, a volunteer at Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, earned her award for her service to the senior citizens.
These recipients were chosen by friends, families and recipients for their talents during the past year.
The program was coordinated by Jessica Yaich, program analyst, Aging and Adult Services for Lehigh County.
Lehigh County Executive Phil Armstrong, JR Reed, Office of Aging and Adult Services, and Artur DiLoreto, former deputy director, Pa. Association of Area Agencies on Aging were the presenters at the Unsung Heroes Awards 2024.
