meLVin, the puck-nosed pladottle mascot of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms professional hockey team, visited Allentown Public Library on July 27 to join in story time for children.
Children listened as Sheri Miltenberger, head of youth services, read books such as “The Three Little Pigs” and others.
Eleven children, accompanied by parents or grandparents, enjoyed the stories and the opportunity to meet meLVin.
After the readings, meLVin led everyone on a fun walk through the book aisles of the children’s department.

meLVin, mascot of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey team, led children and families through the book aisles at the Allentown Public Library. He was followed by Meredith, 4, Aaralyn, 5, Melody, 8, Dolly Gandhi with Anaan, 18 months, Jiya, 11, visiting from Canada, Nora, 4, and Colin, 7.
Nineteen-month-old Kamai Armstead’s dad Amador, of Allentown, brought him to his first story time at the Allentown Public Library, July 27.
