Swain station nears completion

PRESS PHOTO BY JIM MARSHWestern Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company’s new Swain fire station, 950 S. Ott St., is nearing completion. Contractors during the week of Aug. 5 assembled engine bay doors and applied a new macadam surface to the station’s parking area and the Ott Street roadway approach. WSVFC firefighter Jerry Royer, the fire company’s project manager said, “Construction activities are going very well. We may be able to begin transition of our operations from our temporary quarters along Eisenhower Avenue to the Swain station by the end of August.”
