Moore Township: Township recreation committee to meet Aug. 15

Moore Township Recreation Committee’s next meeting is planned for 7 p.m. Aug. 15 at the municipal building, 2491 Community Drive. The committee’s goals are to assist township children and families.

The committee is providing an opportunity to purchase a brick for the veteran memorial at the recreation center. Visit donate.brickmarkers.com/moore to donate or for information how to order a memorial brick.

The annual Moore Township Community Days festival is planned for 4-9 p.m. Aug. 16 and 1-9 p.m. Aug. 17 at the township recreation center, 635 English Road.

The event features live music, food trucks, drinks, a cheerleader demonstration, bingo, fireworks and more. Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company will be at the event Aug. 17 serving funnel cakes and fresh fruit smoothies.

Moore Township Land and Environmental Protection Board next meets Sept. 9. Meetings are held 7 p.m. at the township recreation center. Consider joining this board as it labors to preserve the township’s rural character.

There is a vacancy. Interested residents should call the township office for information.

Bingo is held 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company, 2718 Mountain View Drive. Doors open 5 p.m.

The night includes prizes, progressive jackpot, rob the piggy bank and wash line bingo.

Moore Township is implementing a new committee — Americans With Disabilities Act Committee. The three members will serve one-year terms.

Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, 696 Johnson Road, Moorestown, hosts a Boy Scout Troop 74 meeting 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday in the social hall. Boy Scouts are for boys and girls 10 years old and up.

The township emergency management coordinator reminds residents emergencies can happen while traveling. An accident or weather-related incident can cause significant delays.

When traveling, keep a small kit containing drinks, snacks, a flashlight and a blanket. The best way to deal with an emergency is to be prepared.
