Aug. 14

The Emmaus Police Department will host National Night Out at the department headquarters, 400 W. Jubilee St., 6-8 p.m.

Aug. 17

The Lower Macungie Township free summer concerts and entertainment continues with concerts at the Hills at Lock Ridge Park Band Shell, 7125 Scenic Drive, Macungie. Enjoy the music of Island Time in Jimmy Buffet style 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The Seed Farm, 5854 Vera Cruz Road, will host its annual fall plant sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 18. The sale will be held rain or shine and features cold and frost tolerant vegetable and herb plants organically grown at the farm.

Wildlands Conservancy will host National Honeybee Day at the Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, 2-3:30 p.m. Participants will make a seed bomb to take home and witness a honey extraction demonstration at the sanctuary’s hive as well as a netting of the meadow to better observe insects. Aug. 18

The 72nd annual Vera Cruz Homecoming will be held at Mystic Chain Park, Main Road East, Vera Cruz, noon to 8 p.m. Highlights include entertainment by musical acts The Rehrig Brothers noon to 3 p.m. and Timewhys 5 to 8 p.m. DJ Cesar Rosario, Toast of the Town, will broadcast live 3-5 p.m. A cakewalk will be held 3:15 p.m. and a food truck and other food and beverages will be available.

The Boy Scouts of America Minsi Trails Council will host Macungie Fun Day noon to 5 p.m. at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 Poplar St., Macungie. There will be activities, food trucks and opportunities to learn about Scouting.

Aug. 23-25

The 45th annual Wheels of Time Rod and Custom Jamboree will be held at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 Poplar St. The event helps support local charities and a scholarship program. The show opens 7 a.m. each day. Musical entertainment continues until 10 p.m. Aug. 23 and Aug. 24. Donations of food items for local food banks will be accepted.

Tunes in the Triangle 6:30-8:30 p.m. featuring The Audio Files band in Emmaus.

Aug. 25

The premiere screening and a gala celebrating the release of the local film “The Fries Rebellion” will be held 4-8 p.m. at the resort casino Wind Creek, Bethlehem. Ticket sales closed Aug. 10.

Wildlands Conservancy will host the program “Magnificent Moths” 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus. The program is designed for ages 4 and older. Participants will learn about moths that, although camouflaged to avoid predators, can glow under black light. There is a cost and registration is required. Wildlands Conservancy will host its fundraiser “Wine & Dine,” a farm-to-table experience, 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Lock Ridge Park, 525 Franklin St., Alburtis. Chefs from Roots Catering will prepare a seasonal menu of locally-sourced farm-fresh foods and beverages will include wine from Domaine Pterion and beer from Weyerbacher Brewing Company. The 22nd annual Lower Milford Fall Festival is scheduled 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the township building, 7607 Chestnut Hill Church Road, Coopersburg. The event traditionally includes artists, vendors, craft demonstrations, activities for children, music, food, wagon rides and more. The festival is held rain or shine.
