Charles R. Zimmerman Sr., 83, of Whitehall, died Aug. 2, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of Patricia (Beehrle) Zimmerman for 63 years.

Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late Roland E. and Stella (Betz) Zimmerman.

He was in the U.S. Navy Reserve for nine years.

He worked for Lehigh Structural Steel for 18 years and then Alstom Steel for 15 years, from which he retired.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Allentown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, John of Whitehall; and three nieces.

He was predeceased by a son, Charles R. Zimmerman Jr.

Services are private at the discretion of the family.
