Gates open: 6 p.m. Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges, born in Champagne, Ill., moved to Atlanta, Ga., where he started rapping at age 9 and formed his own record label, Disturbing the Peace, in the late 1990s to release his debut studio album, “Incognegro” (1999), re-released by Def Jam Recordings as “Back for the First Time” (2000) after its single, “What’s Your Fantasy” (featuring Shawnna), became a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The re-released album peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and had a second Top 40 single, “Southern Hospitality” (featuring Pharrell). His albums include: “Word of Mouf” (2001), “Chicken-n-Beer” (2003), “The Red Light District” (2004), “Release Therapy” (2006), “Theater of the Mind” (2008), “Battle of the Sexes” (2010) and “Ludaversal” (2015). He played Tej Parker in “2 Fast 2 Furious” (2003), reprising the role seven times in the sequels, including “Fast X” (2023). He has appeared on numerous TV shows and in films, receiving a Screen Actors Guild Award for Cast in the movie, “Hustle & Flow” (2005).
