Henrietta L. Klocek, 96 years, 9 months, and 6 days, a longtime resident of Allentown, died peacefully Aug. 2, 2024, with her loving son and daughter-in-law by her side in the skilled nursing facility of Cedar Crest Post Acute.
The wife of John P. Klocek for 16 years at the time of his death in 1972, she was born in Alburtis, the daughter of the late Howard Markle and Etta (Kenyon) Markle.
A 1947 graduate of Allentown High School, she was a teacher’s aide for many years with the Allentown School District.
She later worked for Lehigh Valley Child Care as an associate teacher for more than 20 years.
She believed in the importance of early learning and how it played a crucial role in the development of young children.
She is survived by her sons Thomas and wife. Pamela, Richard and, wife Debbie, and John and wife, Diane; grandchildren Jason, John, Michael, Amber and Jeffrey; and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.
Her service will be 11 a.m. Aug. 10 in Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall, where her viewing will begin at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
