Bath: Church plans outdoor service, blessing of backpacks
Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, will be having an outdoor worship service 9:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at the pavilion, weather permitting. There will also be blessing of the backpacks at this service.
Grab your lawn chair or a blanket, and come join in.

Bath Area Food Bank will next distribute food Aug. 13, starting around 9:30 a.m., on the lower level of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 206 E. Main St. Do not arrive before 9:30 a.m., due to safety reasons.

The Bath Museum, 121 S. Walnut St., will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 17.
Volunteers are needed. Call 484-284-0313 if interested.

Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, will be open 1-3 p.m. Aug. 17 for tours of the historic buildings, grounds and the new museum.

For the month of August, Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church will be helping Bath Area Food Bank by collecting cleaning supplies, paper products, canned vegetables and crackers. There is a special request for canned corn, canned string beans, chicken noodle soup and peanut butter. There is also an ongoing need for ramen noodles. Donations for the food bank can be dropped off in the bins in fellowship hall or the upstairs gathering area.
They are no longer accepting Jell-O or pudding.
Bath Area Food Bank is always in need of monetary donations, and A-Hart’s gift cards are needed for emergencies. Bring all gift cards in an envelope marked “food bank” to the church office.

Bath Social Hall, 135 S. Walnut St., has bingo every Friday night. Doors open 5 p.m., and bingo starts 6:30 p.m. There are jackpots, pull-tab tickets, froggy and four-number bingo.
There is free coffee and food available for purchase.
