102 years old, formerly of Emmaus
Angelo Bokeko, 102, formerly of Emmaus, died July 28, 2024, at Complete Care at Lehigh, Macungie. He was the husband of the late Anna (Barto) Bokeko for 59 years. Born in Nesquehoning, he was the son of Samuel Bokeko (Donato Bochicchio) and Sarah (Savina Panabianco).
He grew up in West Catasauqua and attended St. Lawrence Parochial School, Catasauqua.
He worked as a loom helper in a local silk mill until being drafted into the service.
He served in the U.S. Army in 1942 and served proudly in C Company, 67th Armored Infantry Battalion, 13th Armored Division. He was deployed to Europe and saw action in France, Germany and Austria, taking part in the second Battle of Cologne.
He was a pattern cutter in the furniture upholstery trade, working for several companies before retiring from Mason Art Furniture in 1990.
He enjoyed sports and played softball and bowled in several leagues. He also enjoyed meeting and talking with people.
He is survived by children, Carol Campbell, Nancy Phillip, Diane Boatman, William; grandchildren, John Puschock, Ryan Phillip, Brett Boatman, Leah Phillip, Miranda Treadway (Boatman), Neisha Phillip; great-grandchildren, Birch Puschock, Penny Treadway and Theo Treadway. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lettiere; brothers Frank and Daniel.

Graveside services will be held at the Emmaus Moravian Cemetery 11 a.m. Aug. 17. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, Emmaus.
