LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Night of project-related approvals

Back in November 2022, concerns over a planned bicycle/walking trail for Traditions of America at Green Pond were brought to the attention of the Bethlehem Township Board of Commissioners.

At the board’s July 19 meeting, new issues were voiced during courtesy of the floor, with the primary concern being a lack of communication with the builders, roadway depressions, stormwater collection concerns and more scheduled road work.

A resolution granting preliminary/final land development for a Chase bank branch to Ferber Construction Management LLC was approved. To be located at 4900 Freemansburg Ave., a corner lot, the bank will be built on a six-acre site.

The release of $1,427,526 was approved for the Lehigh Valley Trade Center III project, which is near completion. There remains $53,270 in escrow. The project, being overseen by Clarion Partners, covers an area of 588,319 square feet in Lower Nazareth.

Two hold harmless indemnification agreements were approved.

The first is between the township and new homeowners of 3207 Dublin Court, Laurie Sage and Joseph Stellato. The agreement states the township is not liable for the outdoor kitchen and other home improvements which were conducted by the previous owners with proper township regulation approvals. According to Community Development Director Samantha Smith, a shed and a fence, not covered by the agreement, must be removed.

The second agreement is with Arielle Nicholson concerning a proposed fence to be built at 1702 Charley Lane.

The board approved a resolution granting the expenditure of $270,962 for a 2025 Mack Granite GR42BR dump truck with accessories and authorizing its use for the execution of a government obligation contract.
