Michael Reed, 73, of Fountain Hill, died on July 17 at home. Born in and lifelong resident of the Lehigh Valley, he was a son of the late William and the late Dorothy Reed. He was the husband of Joann (Janus) for 45 years.

He took classes to in computer sciences at Allentown College.

He was a rigger at Bethlehem Steel from 1969 to 1988. He worked in supervisory and managerial positions at Pentamation. He then was the supervisor of Data Center Operations at St. Luke’s Hospital until he retired in 2010.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Nathan and his wife Christine of Shirley, Massachusetts; a son, Adam of Fountain Hill; a brother, Jeffrey and his wife Marilen of Jim Thorpe; a brother, Jonathan of Greenville, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Adeline; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Jason.
