District earns national PR recognition
Bethlehem Area School District is the recipient of three awards from National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).
NSPRA Awards recognize outstanding education publications, e-newsletters, digital media programs, radio/TV/video programs, social media, infographics, blogs and websites. NSPRA uses experienced, award-winning professionals to evaluate entries.
This year, the NSPRA Awards received more than 1,880 submissions.
Bethlehem Area School District won an Award of Merit for its “BASD E-NEWS” newsletter that is sent regularly to the community, district, and others who have signed up. The newsletter highlights recent and upcoming events, showcases district videos or important social media posts, includes alumni highlights and important information or district news.
The Bethlehem Area School District also earned two Honorable Mentions for its Hispanic Heritage Month video series and the announcement video for new Bethlehem Area School District superintendent, Dr. Jack Silva.
“I am proud of our communication team for its exceptional efforts in spotlighting the achievements of our BASD community,” Silva said.
In addition, Barbara Clymer, district communication coordinator, was nominated as the 2024 Communicator of the Year, representing Pennsylvania at this year’s National Conference.
Earlier in the year, the Bethlehem Area School District won two awards in the 2024 Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association (PenSPRA) “Excellence in Education Communication” contest, held in March at Penn State University in State College. The Bethlehem Area School District also won three awards in the 2023 NSPRA Awards.
