PRESS PHOTO BY LANI GOINSAfter a two-year absence, Frank DellaPenna’s Cast in Bronze has made a triumphant return to Musikfest. Forty seats were set out for the audience at the first performance, and the crowd was roughly double that number. Situated across from the Martin Guitar Handwerkplatz, by the grassy area toward Lehigh Street, the four-ton, 35 bell carillon is played by a man dressed in black, wearing a golden mask. The 30-minute concerts contain a mix of classical and contemporary music accompanied by the bells. Cast in Bronze has three traveling carillons. More information is on its websitecastinbronze.net.
