Variety of programs offered at Parkland Community Library
Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, is offering Jumping Beans Storytime for kids up to age 5 at 10-10:30 a.m. and 11-11:30 a.m. Aug. 2.
Join Ms. Audrey on the lawn for ukulele songs, stories and play.
They will use shakers, scarves, bubbles and a parachute.

Adults, join the library staff and try your luck at bingo 1-2 p.m. Aug. 2.
They encourage participants to bring a small prize to add excitement to each round played. All games are free to play.

A Teen’s Dungeon and Dragon Night for kids in grades seven through 12 will take place 6-8 p.m. Aug. 5.

The library’s Idea Lab for adults interested in exploring new ideas and creating something unique will take place 1-4 p.m. on Aug. 6.

Bring a favorite book and practice reading to the patient and gentle Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Aug. 6.

The library’s coloring club for adults will take place 2-4 p.m. Aug. 8 and 15. Spend an afternoon coloring.

Yarn lovers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to attend the Not Just Knitting group from 2-4 p.m. Aug. 8 and 15.
Bring your materials for an afternoon of knitting with friends and swapping tips.

Short Story Society will meet to discuss the novel “The Library of Babel” by Jorge Luis Borges from 3-4 p.m. on Aug. 8.

The Kids Highlights Club for ages 5-7 will meet to engage in fun, easy crafts, and search for hidden pictures in Highlights magazines from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Aug. 8.

The library will host a Pirate Adventure Party 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 10 for all ages.
There will be a Pirate Bounce Ship for the kids outside, an indoor play space for the babies, and a Land Ho! Terrarium craft for teens and adults. Pirate gear is encouraged. Grub will be served. Summer Reading Club prize winners will be drawn.
