Lehigh County Office and Aging and Adult Services presented a program May 15 in the Zentz Center at Fellowship Community, Whitehall, recognizing senior citizens for their contributions to the quality of life in the county.
Donald Hill, 85, of South Whitehall, active in his church, Nativity Lutheran, and a volunteer at the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank, earned him an Unsung Hero award at the tribute to Unsung Heroes ceremony.
This year, 19 older adults were awarded the title of Unsung Heroes.
Recipients were chosen by friends, families and various organizations for their talents during the past year.
The program was coordinated by Jessica Yaich, program analyst, Aging and Adult Services for Lehigh County.
Lehigh County Executive Phil Armstrong, JR Reed, Office of Aging and Adult Services, and Artur DiLoreto, former deputy director, Pa. Association of Area Agencies on Aging were the presenters at the Unsung Heroes Awards 2024.
