Gates open: 5:30 p.m. Sugar Ray, a rock band from Orange County, Calif., formed in 1992, is named after the boxer Sugar Ray Leonard. The first hit was in Summer 1997 with “Fly,” released on the album “Floored.” Two years later, “14:59” went triple-platinum with the hits “Someday,” “Falls Apart” and a second No. 1, “Every Morning.” Better Than Ezra, formed in 1988 at Louisiana State University, had “Good” as a No. 1 hit in 1995 and Taylor Swift covered “Breathless” in 2010. The New Orleans quartet was founded by Kevin Griffin, lead vocals, guitar, piano, and Tom Drummond, bass, backing vocals. Tonic is Emerson Hart, Jeff Russo and Dan Lavery. Since 1996, the multi-platinum trio has had six Top 10 singles, sold 4 million-plus records and garnered two Grammy Award nominations. The debut, “Lemon Parade,” yielded the “No. 1 Most-Played Rock Song of 1997” in the single “If You Could Only See.”
