Myrna A. Hollenbeck, 78, of Orefield, died July 20, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

The wife of Bruce P. Hollenbeck, the couple was married 50 years.

Born in Harvey, Ill. she was the daughter of John and Myrle (Borg) Tienstra.

She was of Dutch and Swedish ancestry.

An elementary education teacher for Northern Lehigh and Northwestern Lehigh school districts for six years, with a gap as a stay-at-home mom, she returned to teaching at The Swan School for 14 years.

She was involved for many years with cat rescues and placement in forever homes.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Aeh Jay Hollenbeck of Denver Colo., and brother, Jon Tienstra of W.Va.

A celebration of her life will be arranged in the future for those who were close to her.
