Mark J. Morawski

Drum & Bugle Corps member

Mark J. Morawski, 68, died as a result from a fall, July 23, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Allentown. He was the husband of Karla E. (Hittinger) Morawski. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Louis J. and Ramona (Bender) Morawski.

He held several positions as vice president, controller and senior business analyst for various companies including International Paper, Bankers Trust and AIG Insurance.

His love of drum and bugle corps began where he played baritone horn, starting with O.L.P.H. Midgets in 1963; then with the O.L.P.H. Ridgemen from 1968 to 1973. He played with numerous alumni drum corps through the years including the New York Skyliners, Brooklyn United and Blessed Sacrament. He recently volunteered and worked locally with Garfield Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps for a short time.

He enjoyed traveling especially cruising, with his wife, spending time with family and friends and helping and giving to others and charities. He had a strong faith, attending church and serving on the finance committee.

He loved dogs, especially his yellow lab, Ginger.

He was an avid Yankee and Giants fan and was a member of the L.V. Yankee Fan Club.

He is survived by his wife; stepson, Zachary Young and his fiancée, Erika Velho; sister, Katherine McCarthy and companion, Donald Lucy; nieces; nephews; extended family.
