Harry L. Hebig, 96, formerly of Emmaus, died July 17, 2024, at The David A. Miller Personal Care building at Phoebe, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Lorraine A. (Stoudt) Hebig. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Lewis and Esther (Leiby) Hebig.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He worked in the maintenance department in the East Penn School District from 1974 to 1990, primarily at Shoemaker Elementary School. He previously worked for Lehigh Valley Dairy until its closing.
He was a member of St. Matthew’s E.C. Church, Emmaus.
He enjoyed gardening, sports and spending time with friends.
He is survived by a son, David P. and his wife, Julie; daughter, Diane Meli and her husband, Leonard; grandchildren, Alicia Meli, Kristin Shaffer (Shawn), Colson and Connor; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Shaffer and Violet. He was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Meli, in 2014.
