33RD SOUPER DAY: For the first time, Souper Day will feature an inspiring panel discussion moderated by Katarah Jordan, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown. These esteemed New Bethany board members will discuss cross-sector solutions to housing insecurity, economic justice, and food stability: Michelle Kott, Bethlehem chief of police; Hector Gonzalez, Just Born; Rachel Leon, Bethlehem City Council; and Dr. Jack Silva, superintendent, Bethlehem Area School District.
The 33rd Souper Day luncheon is set for 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at ArtsQuest in South Bethlehem.

PEACE PARK EVENT: Christ Lutheran Church, 69 Main Street, Hellertown, is hosting a viewing party on Monday, Aug. 5 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Attendees will be viewing a livestreamed event from Hiroshima Peace Park in Japan on the 79th Annual Hiroshima Day. The viewing party in the sanctuary at Christ Lutheran is open to the public and free to attend
The event being livestreamed from Japan is organized by May Peace Prevail On Earth International and includes the Japanese nationwide moment of silence in remembrance of the atomic bombing of 1945.
Hiroshima Day expresses the deepest hope of humanity that atomic weapons will never be used again. The event will include a World Peace Flag Ceremony featuring flags from every nation of the world and prayers for lasting peace everywhere.
OPEN HOUSE: The Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley invites all media to an open house celebrating its 20th birthday and the grand opening of a new office. Please come by July 31 between 4 and 7 p.m. at 4501 Crackersport Road, Allentown.
Join us for an afternoon of celebration and community as we mark two decades of dedicated service to pediatric cancer families in the Lehigh Valley and unveil our new office space. The event will feature family-friendly activities, including balloons and face painting for kids, music and food, including light appetizers, cupcakes and Dinky’s Food Truck.
